This past Saturday, April 29th the Ridgefield Little League remembered Justin with a plaque and ceremony just across the street at Aldrich field. The event was announced on the Ridgefield Little League site and in The Ridgefield Press.Justin had just made the Ridgefield Little League team and was able only to attend 2 practices and no games before his illness. Here were the events for the day:
9:30 AM – Annual 1st pitch ceremony at the Ridgefield HS field right next to the Ridgefield Playhouse. We said a few words to those attending.
11:00 AM – Plaque Dedication at Aldrich Park field – The plaque will be unveiled and we along with others spoke about Justin, including Justin’s coach, Barrett Brown and teacher, Will Boylan.
Following the ceremony, Justin’s team Ridgefield Hardware took the field against the Lion’s Club in an exciting game.
What an amazing day as we got to talk about Justin and www.justinssmile.com, so thankful to Ridgefield Little League and East Ridge Middle School for remembering Justin. Another Justin, Justin Keller from Ridgefield Hardware kicked off the 1st inning in style with a long home run to left field.
